The Brown House

Pottery and Museum
The Brown House Gallery and Museum was established in 1973 and displays the works of local artists. The owner is a potter and sculptor who produces stoneware and porcelain pottery in his studios at the Brown House.

The building was originally a grocery store that dates back to the early 1920s. The main room still contains many of the fixtures, furniture and even goods that were here when it was still a store. Many other items and photos from the early days of East Glacier Park and the Blackfeet Reservation are on display and integrated with the gallery.

Guest Lodging
The guest lodging at the Brown House is located one block east of U.S. Highway 2 (away from the mountains) at the corner of Washington and Dawson Streets. It is also one block east of the Amtrak Station. The Brown House is within easy walking distance of excellent restaurants, gift shops, cars rentals, a horseback riding concession, a golf course and laundromats.

There are three recently remodeled and redecorated rooms available. The second floor room, with a view of the mountains, has a queen bed and a twin day bed. One of the ground floor rooms, decorated in traditional style, has a queen bed and a twin day bed. The other ground floor room, decorated in country cottage style, has a queen bed. A rollaway bed is available. All three rooms have private entrances, private baths, electric heat, television and air conditioning.
